Last week's Speaker
Sakhr Munassar, Red Cross Youth Worker, spoke to us about his wonderful efforts with the former refugee youth in Dunedin. He is a very charismatic presenter and had the members in attendance listening intently.
A donation of $50 was made to him to buy some stationery for his initiative ‘Homework Club’: an original project of his, where volunteers engage with the youth and help with homework or just chat and help out with any queries.
Dunedin City is lucky to have such a hardworking and enthusiastic person working with it’s recently arrived Syrian youth.
Peter Nees Retirement
We had an emotional farewell to Peter and Diane last week.
We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them at some special events in the future.
