NEXT WEEK'S SPEAKER
MARK BREDENBECK

Mark is the East Otago fire risk management officer and a
great outdoors man
Mark Bredenbeck is a 'Kiwi' who lives with his English wife and three boys in New Zealand. He has lived and worked in various countries throughout the world but has settled in Dunedin.
His novels 'Human Frailty' 'Wasted Lives' and 'Send in the Clowns' are set in Dunedin which has a rich history of infamous crime in New Zealand . The novels give rise to his main character Det Sgt Mike Bridger who is a troubled Police Detective just trying to do his best in a world full of mischief and crime.     Writing is a hobby, but one that he enjoys.
Mark is an outdoors man and his three boys benefit enormously from this interest as they have 'caught' their Dad's passion.
He, as a Fire Risk Management Officer, is in a unique position to advise us all on this subject.

LAST WEEK'S SPEAKER
Tamsin Cooper
Urban Dream Brokerage
OK, OK, OK I know I copied the incorrect bit of Tamsin's bio but it got some extra attendance didn't it. Lovely to see Barbara H Jenny S, Rosemary M, Diane N, Penny S and Alana B our wonderful partners turn up to hear what Tamsin had to say about the 'Urban Dream Brokerage programme'.
This programme uses unoccupied shops to display artwork, cultural work and activities.
She described some of the projects that had been organised to brings vibrancy to the city. The projects are so many I would suggest that you all put Urban Dream Brokerage into your search engine and be astounded by the range of the work that has been developed under the DCC's umbrella.

This Cloud is Queeningi
Wee Book
These are some to the many projects that have been undertaken in Dunedin
It is very interesting that many of the displays/activities are in buildings owned by our Club members, I knew I mixed with 'high flyers' but this is way beyond my expectations.

THE BUS TOUR
Well it's all go - what a weekend it will be
There is a mini bus and 6 cars  leaving from Robyn's 15 Grendon Street at 9.15am this Saturday.
If we are not back by next Tuedsday don't panic we are all staying at Ken L's in the forest for the week.
Heather's contact number is; 021 246 7762
Ah-Lek's number is 027 436 0767
Subject: Otago Rally

Spectator numbers were down this year but we still collected $4,725.60 (last year $6,746.50).
It took longer to get all the cars through this year so particular thanks to Leisa Pierson, Alastair & Logan & the Dunedin Central team for staying on till late, wind made it a little raw so it was much appreciated.
We have pro-rated our share of the takings based on numbers & hours at the venue then rounded the figures up (Norman Oakley has kindly agreed to this) so that
Dunedin North share is $650, Dunedin share $950 and Dunedin Central share $1000

Kind Regards - Peter Jackson

Many thanks to Pete for giving us the opportunity to help out and freeze at the same time.

Cargill Enterprises staff lifting their skills and being awarded with Certificates and dictionaries.
