Club Night Summary
Tuesday was a great brainstorming and planning session with some great new ideas formed surrounding events, promotion and communication within the club.
Membership
The membership committee proposed that we aim for 10% increase in membership making our total member target for Dunedin Central, 45 members.
We would like to increase diversity amongst members and try to lower the average age.
It was suggested we could arrange events outside the normal meetings which would try and attract younger members and try and broaden the vocations of members within the club.
Projects
Great job everyone for helping out with recent collections for the Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust, Cystic Fibrosis and Susanah at the Pop Up Shop on Friday.
Upcoming projects include:
Book Sale, 29 Sept - 2 October
Great NZ Lego Show, 1&2 October
Jumbo Tennis, 14th October
End Polio Now, 28th October
Foundation Auction, 15th November
Youth
Three candidates have been selected to interview for the next Rotary Youth Exchange programme.
The Youth Committee are arranging a presentation to the John McGlashan College to spread the word about Rotary among students there, which could also be a potential boost for the future membership goals of our club!
Foundation
This years Foundation night is 15th November with the theme being MAGIC! There will be a magician as entertainment and members and guests are to come dressed as something magic.
We would like to get numbers up for the event and have some items put forward for auction so we can get the promo happening for this.
The ticket cost is only $35 which includes champagne and refreshments as well as a fun night and opportunity to win some great stuff in the auction.
Public Relations
The current goal for the Public Relations Committee is to get content up on the new website, link below:
We have a new 'Project Form' to gather all the event information for projects and events in order to be publicised on the website. You can get the form from Vicki, or just contact any of us in the PR committee.
The end goal is to train everyone to be able to upload stories and event information to the Clubrunner content management system themselves. We are looking at having some more training sessions for this.
We are also looking at expanding the database for targeting our promotions. We have challenged everyone at the club to come up with 5 business contacts for us as a way of doing this. Please email these contacts to the bulletin editor, Murray Eskdale, you can use the email link from the Bulletin Editor section in the left column of this Bulletin.
