Linda Gray's New Member Talk
Last Tuesday, new member Linda spoke to us in an informative, historical and amusing presentation about her upbringing, work and personal life.
Linda grew up moving all over the world spending time in Hong Kong, England and Australia just to name a few!
Along the way Linda has picked up many languages and has had to adapt quickly to many different culture shocks from a young age. She has relatives all over the world with different nationalities and cultures.
Linda finished school in Australia and trained to become a nurse. All her training was done in a hospital where Linda was straight in to practical experience. Linda became a psychiatric nurse and worked at first in a psychiatric sheltered community. Since then Linda has worked many case management roles within psychiatric care and enjoyed the hard work involved, often working two positions in places that were underfunded and understaffed.
Linda studied at Hobart University before making the move over to Auckland. Linda had another case management role there but the long commute and busy lifestyle forced a move here to Dunedin! Linda loves it here with the interesting architecture and scenery. She has many hobbies including art, pottery French and singing.
Linda gave a lovely and personal talk and she certainly has the right attributes for being a Rotary member!
